It is an insightful, fun-filled, and informative walk on the Pest side of Budapest. You can learn on this tour about Hungarian culture in general. In the end you’ll know about our history, culture, society, architecture, food, nightlife, and what the locals are actually like. The tour is focused on the best sights that Pest has to offer. The goal of this Budapest city walk is to discover and experience our city through the eyes of an insider.
We start our tour in downtown Budapest on the Elisabeth square, where we learn about the city’s origin and the history of the country in general.
Next, we are passing by St Stephen’s Basilica, one of the most magnificent buildings in Budapest, to learn about its history and hidden symbols.
On our next stop, at Archduke Joseph square, we tell you what the “most Hungarian Habsburg” did for the Hungarians.
We walk across Budapest’s most famous pedestrian-only area called Vörösmarty square where we introduce you to the prestigious Gerbeaud café.
We continue our way along the famous Danube Promenade, which offers your plenty of excellent photo opportunities of Vigado, Buda Castle Hill, Gellert Hill, and the two iconic symbols of the town, called Little Princess and Chain Bridge.
We help you to impress your friends with your new Hungarian vocabulary at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. We take you to the Shoe Memorial to learn about the tragic happenings of the Holocaust.
We end the tour at the second-largest Parliament in Europe and tell you the important roles it has played in Hungarian history. Before we let you go, our tour guides will provide a final orientation and further useful recommendations.
