Pesti Vigado is located between the Chain Bridge and Elisabeth bridge. This is the second largest concert hall in Budapest. It’s a mixture of Oriental and Hungarian Art Nouveau styles. The architect Frigyes Feszl also designed Dohany street Grand Synagogue. This was the banquet room for Emperor Franz Joseph and Sissy his wife in honor of their coronation. Many famous musicians such as Franz Liszt, Richard Wagner played here. Today the building is mainly used as concert hall (acoustics are excellent) and contemporary art exhibition room. Be sure to visit the rooftop terrace for the spectacular Danube view. If you want to check out this building, join our Free Budapest Tour.
