The locals call it the Hungarian “Trevi” Fountain. You can find it in the Western courtyard of Buda Castle. The statue group depicts a hunting scene, led by King Matthias.
According to the sad love story the king went hunting (the center top statue) and met a beautiful peasant girl ( bottom right-hand side. ) They fell in love at first sight…..but when she found out he is the king and the marriage never could happen she started to cry. Her tears are coming out from the fountain. Anyone who tosses a coin in the fountain will return to Budapest.
