On this Street Art and Street Food tour, you’ll have the opportunity to discover the colorful murals and see of unique stencils of the Jewish quarter and learn about how an innovation was created in the area during recent years by street artists and the city. The area has different faces during the day and during the night. You can see and learn about a lot of heartbreaking but also beautiful Hungarian Jewish history during the day, and at night, you can enjoy the famous ruin pubs of Budapest. This area is the center of the culinary life of the city, so while we enjoy the temporary art pieces on the walls, you’ll try the 2 most typical local street foods and you’ll have a long drink in the Szimpla Garden at the end of the tour.
Of course, your local guide will recommend to you many international food spots, brunch places, caféhouses and confectioneries on the way, and you’ll visit the food center of the town, the Central Market Hall as well.
Itinerary
During this easy, 3-3,5 hours long walk we will introduce you the artistic face of the Jewish quarter and sometimes we spice it up with a little history and of course food as well while looking at beautifully painted murals.
Our Street Art and Street Food tour starts and the Fővám square in front of the Burger King and we dive into the culinary life of the city right away with an interior visit of the Central Market Hall.
As we continue our walk to the Jewish Quarter, we have quick stop to try our go to sweet street snack, the Chimney Cake.
Now in the artistic and culinary heart of the city, it’s time to see and talk about the works of local and international street artists like MissKK, 0036Mark, Kolodko and many more.
It’s time to meet again so we’ll try the most popular local street food, the Lángos.
We visit the flea market in the Gozsdu Courtyard and finally we finish the tour best way you can finish any walking tour, with a cold drink in the first ruin bar of the city, the Szimpla Garden.
